The July 2010 print in my “I Make Photos Monthly” series, Lemmy: God of metal and island nations, ships Monday morning. Keeping with my promise to only work within the realm of black & white and color toning this month, the piece can be described as using shades of blue.

Above is the print I received from @theDoug in the mail. Awesome, isn’t it?

How did I get my hands on this bad boy? Well, I entered his I Make Photos Monthly content and won! I’d encourage you all to follow his blog here and enter his upcoming photo contest.

I’ve now confirmed that two out of five prints have arrived, which is good news. May’s print, My Past Became Nothing But Fable, will be mailed out tomorrow afternoon to subscribers. I will clarify, however, that it isn’t a monthly contest currently, but something I hope to have be monthly at some point ($28 in postage costs for April’s print made it a good test).

And with a click of a link, I’m now working for Old Man Hansen for the next twelve months.

You should sign up as well if you’re interested. Apart from the Polaroids (oh god, so many Polaroids I’ll have to make), and stack of awesome 8”x8” prints, I think it’s the mail system that will be the most challenging part of this experience. I’ll literally be using your federal governments to send you photographs.

Still, always remember this palindrome: A man, a plan, a Camera, I can, I will, I am.*
