The Tragically Hip - Grace, Too
I posted this as a reply, but realise that everyone needs to know:
If you can, grab the version from “Live Between Us” for what a teenaged me considered the best live version. The line below morphs (like in many Hip songs), and becomes “With skill and this frustration” and I can’t help but get goosebumps.
I couldn’t agree more, though I think the Gord-ism that launches this song (and all of Live Between Us, an amazing live album) is what has me locked in.
“Sun came up, shot through the blinds / Today was the day, and I was already behind.”
Ryan gets it, too. Get on board, folks. Gord Downie encounters a bear in this song, while hunting, and lives through it.
