I’m glad you shared your photos. It’s always interesting to see what the other photographers are seeing. Also, I was very surprised by the way this worked. I’ve never been to a photo call like this where they only play a few scenes.
The partial scenes at the media call feel like a carry-over from when radio and TV would often show up and the production would run through anything the press wanted, because it meant coverage.
We know that local coverage of the arts keeps shrinking, and now the only media to show up are the Gateway (you) or whatever is sent elsewhere (me), but the theatre has remained just as eager to please. I’m uncomfortable in asking people to do things over or pausing and posing just so I can get a photo, so I try to just get in and get out with very little fuss.
For those who aren’t hip to the news, Julianna was at tonight’s media call at the Walterdale, and while I suspected it was her, I didn’t say a word because I’m also often incredibly wrong with such guesses.
