10 Classic Films to see before Martin Scorsese's Hugo

A lot of work by Méliès, and the beautiful early world of cinema before 1930. Mom’s in town this coming weekend and we plan to go see Hugo, it’ll be her first modern 3D movie.

Scorsese (in my heart) is such a clear fan of cinema. For anyone who has doubts, just listen to his commentary on The Red Shoes. I’m looking forward to seeing Hugo and will be completely looking past the generally terrible way local theatres show films in 3D (that is: overly dim, and poorly projected).
