The boilerplate of these stupid Adobe emails I get because I actually have a legitimate copy of their godforsaken Creative Suite is huge. (533 words!) Anyways, I finally got sick of them and took a minute to find the unsubscribe information in this 6-point-font level of hell.
Alternatively, you…
I live in this world. It’s a legal requirement, and a fairly recent one at that (it falls under CAN-SPAM). Even electronic newsletters must contain a physical-world contact method. No trouble comes to companies that don’t do it until someone decides to take it to higher authorities. Same deal as most web accessibility laws: almost universally ignored and only followed by companies doing the right thing but looking like out of touch jerks for it.
From the CAN-SPAM guide, keeping in mind that many groups (such as ours) send hundreds of thousands of 100% legitimate and customer-wanting emails per year:
“Each separate email in violation of the CAN-SPAM Act is subject to penalties of up to $16,000”
