ultimatesunset replied to Joel Plaskett - “True Patriot Love” ME too. This song was massive to me. Beyond massive. & then when I got to work with him on a CBC television show, I kind of freaked out at first. Super solid guy, he’s been a bit of a role model to me.
Thanks Doug! This was so good to read. Tonight I was preparing a “Canadian music from my teens and from right now”...

Mark Twain in Love →
Sub-title: “A chance encounter on a New Orleans dock in 1858 haunted the writer for the rest of his life”
“I am the most conceited ass in the Territory” is the quote I’m going to keep smiling at, but this is a beautiful little story of love. (via)

Be present, be loving. Life goes really fast. Be nice, be calm. Listen deeply.
– This is a note I’ve been referencing the last month or so, containing things I’ve forgotten or brushed away too easily in the past. One of these items is consistently the correct course when I hit conflict. It’s important that I remain open and share these things with you.

therossi replied to: I’m going into 2012 without fear and without… Hearts! So many hearts on this one.
I have my fingers crossed on a couple pretty big things. I tend to get ahead of myself so I’m waiting to see what’s reality and what’s imagination.

5 beer
5 beer is the current cost of what it takes for my brain to loosen up enough to get around my own rats-nest of math in the Linear project. As ever, I hope to wrap this thing up ASAP. I’ve attached a recent screenshot to show how graphing will look, though it currently doesn’t tie to user-logged weigh-ins and your goal weight (in theory) should be decreasing before being reached...

Are you so out of love that you
can't move fast enough away?
But if desire is acceleration,
experience is circular as any
Indianapolis. We keep coming back
to what we are—each time older
more freaked out, or less afraid.
And you are older now.

Dear gift-giving creature
I have a fireplace. 2% milk, soy milk, and almond milk in the fridge. Cookies by George, gluten-free cookies, and whole wheat Melba toast. Also in the fridge are seven kinds of beer in large quantity and three kinds of fruit juices, none from concentrate. Next to the beer are yogurt cups that taste like various deserts but are only 35 calories, if you’re watching your figure. If you need...

Last night I caught myself. I must have been sleeping on one side of the bed for months (for years, probably) and never noticed it. This made sense when someone was over, but I don’t know why my body naturally and unconsciously kept the habit up when they were not.
I haven’t developed the thought further, but maybe that’s part of the sweetness in relationships- knowing that...

Dear ,
Every year a house down the street has an impressive display of holiday decorations. If you go during the right time no one else is around and you’re left with the sound of falling snow and the buzz of sodium vapor lights.

I think we should all write each other love...
We keep pressing that heart button so much anyhow. Clearly we’re smitten.
